Child Safety Legislation BS EN13120

Due to the recent change in safety regulations every Roman Blind must now comply with the new Child Safety Legislation BS EN13120.  As a Roman Blind maker Calico Blinds are bound to ensure that compliant safety devices are used and that the finished blinds meets the new regulations. These regulations are as follows: 

• Internal breakaway mechanism so no breakaway devices or safety boxes needed - chains can be 60 cm from the floor
• Cord breakaway clips are used on the back of the blind on the bottom 2 rows finished with a cord toggle.
• All finished Roman Blinds will be labelled with the regulations and have a child safety device attached so each finished Roman Blind will be sent out fully compliant

*With a shorter chain it may take longer to operate your blind.  Later this year following compliant safety testing a 'Chain Safety Breakaway' device will be available allowing you to have a longer chain.  This will be available free of charge.
